Bequests
Have you ever thought about the legacy you are leaving behind? Perhaps you have thought about providing a future for our native wildlife by leaving a gift in your Will? By making a bequest to The Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital Ltd (NRWH) you will be helping secure a safer future for wildlife. Every gift is greatly appreciated.
Unless specified otherwise, gifts received from bequests will be directed into areas such as the treatment and care of sick and injured wildlife, and research and advocacy for their protection.
Wording your bequest
Following are two suggested options for wording your bequest.
- Proportion of your estate
Leaving a proportion of your estate means that your gift will not be affected by fluctuations in the size of your estate. Alternatively, you could specify a fixed dollar amount.
“I give and bequeath (free of all duties) …..% of my estate to Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital Ltd (NRWH) in aid of that charity and for its general purposes, with the written acknowledgement of Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital Ltd. to be accepted by my executors as a full and complete discharge.”
- Residue of your estate
It is important to include a residuary clause in your Will, in order to dispose of any assets not otherwise mentioned.
“I give and bequeath (free of all duties) the rest and residue of my estate to Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital Ltd (NRWH), in aid of that charity and for its general purposes, with the written acknowledgement of Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital Ltd (NRWH) to be accepted by my executors as a full and complete discharge.”
