Help us complete the hospital and open our doors to wildlife patients

The Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital (NRWH) is building a state-of-the-art facility in Wollongbar to give sick, injured, and orphaned animals the best chance at recovery and release back into the wild.

Each animal needs tailored care, from triage to surgery to time in a rehabilitation enclosure. With your help, we’re not just saving individual animals – we’re creating long-lasting change to protect wildlife and biodiversity in our region for generations to come.

But we can't do it alone. Will you help us?

This is your wildlife hospital too. As a community-owned hospital, we rely on the generosity and involvement of people like you to make this vision a reality. Every contribution brings us closer to opening our doors and saving lives.

The Northern Rivers region of NSW is one of Australia’s biodiversity hotspots of international significance. It is home to many of the nation’s unique, rare and threatened animals.

The pressures on wildlife in our region continues to increase and the numbers of animals needing veterinary services is growing. The Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital (NRWH) is situated to assist a very strained network of wildlife carers and provide expert veterinarian services to give sick, injured and orphaned wildlife a real chance of survival.

The Northern Rivers Wildlife Network

The Northern Rivers Wildlife Network (NRWN) formed in 2021. It is the peak body representing wildlife care and conservation in the Northern Rivers and is made up of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation service providers, wildlife hospitals, veterinarians with a special interest in wildlife, and environmental conservation organisations. The purpose of the network is to improve communications and collaboration (especially during emergencies such as bushfires and floods), and to undertake joint advocacy to achieve better conservation and wildlife rehabilitation outcomes across the Northern Rivers.
