Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital: Saving and protecting wildlife, together.

Every year, thousands of native animals in the Northern Rivers region face threats from injury, illness, and habitat loss.

At the Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital in Wollongbar, our mission is to be there when wildlife needs us most, providing first-class care and rehabilitation to help native species recover and return to their natural environments.

With the support of our community, sponsors, and dedicated volunteers, we’re building a sanctuary of hope and healing for Australia’s unique wildlife

About the Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital

After five years of dedication and hard work, the Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital in Wollongbar is ready to open its doors, providing critical care to some of our region’s most vulnerable species. As a community-owned, state-of-the-art, all-species wildlife hospital, we are committed to the rescue, treatment, and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned native animals across the Northern Rivers.

Our hospital serves all seven local government areas and offers these lifesaving services free of charge. However, saving lives doesn’t come cheap. We rely on your support to continue this essential work. Every donation over $2.00 is tax-deductible, and all contributions help fund both the completion of the facility and its day-to-day operations.

A Heartfelt Thank You

A little native battler
One of our recent success stories involves a swamp rat rescued by a local volunteer wildlife carer after being cornered by a cat. That is when our volunteer team members stepped in to help.
