A Heartfelt Thank You

As we prepare to open the doors of the Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support received through our 2024 Christmas Appeal. Together, you helped us raise $32,000, including a generous anonymous donation of $20,000 from one incredible donor.

Thanks to the matching support of our environmental foundation sponsor, this amount has been doubled to an astounding $64,000!

What a remarkable achievement! Your kindness and generosity have come at the perfect time, just as we are gearing up to open and welcome our first wildlife patients. Every dollar raised will go directly towards equipping our facility with the tools we need to provide the highest standard of care.

Our GM, Bronte was so excited to unbox the deliveries from our wishlist including a centrifuge to analyse patient samples, intubation tubes, ‘pet packs’ to safely house patients before they await treatment, anaesthetic circuits, stethoscopes, thermometers, clippers, a refractometer… all incredible and all vital!

Thanks to you, we can now:

  • Access essential diagnostic equipment and items used in emergency, surgery and recovery wards.
  • Stock critical medical supplies, ensuring we’re ready for emergencies.
  • Use specialised enclosures designed to support species-specific recovery, from koalas to echidnas and beyond.

We couldn’t have done this without your incredible support. Whether you donated, shared our appeal, or simply cheered us on, you have played a vital role in helping us take this step toward protecting and conserving Australia’s precious wildlife.

To our environmental foundation sponsor and our generous donors—thank you. This funding will not only save lives but also enable us to build a brighter future for wildlife in the Northern Rivers.

Stay tuned as we share updates on the hospital’s progress and showcase some of the equipment your donations have helped fund.

With heartfelt thanks,
The NRWH Team
